Get Started with Off Campus Access

Off-campus access refers to access resources from outside the physical Tufts University environment. This includes Tufts Medical Center users and other remote users who are not within a Tufts University owned building.

Access Instructions

To access the library’s databases off campus, you must first go to the library’s website and select an electronic resource such as a database, eBook, or eJournal. You will then be prompted to log in.

Tufts University users sign in using their Tufts username and password. TMC Center staff signs in using their library access number.

Tufts students, faculty, and staff, shouldn’t have to pay to use a resource. If you’re not sure whether Tufts has access to a desired journal, book, or database, refer to the Tufts Catalog.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Tufts University users may optionally log in through VPN to access the university’s network from off campus. Use your Tufts username and password to log in.

To access the library’s databases from off campus using VPN, you must either use the provided Tufts Home Page link to navigate to the library and its resources within the network or create a web bookmark from the VPN page of the library’s homepage.

For direct VPN access, log in here: https://vpn.tufts.edu/.
