About the Boston Library Consortium
The Tufts University Hirsh Health Sciences Library is a member of the the Boston Library Consortium (BLC), a cooperative association of seventeen academic and research libraries. The Consortium supports resource sharing and enhancement of services to users through programs in cooperative collecting, access to electronic resources, access to physical collections, and enhanced interlibrary loan and document delivery.
BLC WorldCat is the single, searchable catalog of books and audiovisuals owned by participating libraries of the Boston Library Consortium. The service is available to Tufts University library patrons at no charge and allows them to simultaneously search many Boston Library Consortium catalogs and request materials that are unavailable from Tufts University libraries. Use ILLiad to request books or audiovisual materials from another Tufts Library or if you are requesting any journal articles.
Apply for a BLC Consortium Card at the Library Service Desk on Sackler 4. Use the card to borrow from member libraries of the BLC consortium. Consortium Cards are available to faculty, staff, and students.
