Create a Proxied Link to a Journal Article with a DOI

Is there a DOI?

DOI stands for Digital Object Identifier, and is a format for permanent URLs that link directly to resources such as journal articles. Some publishers provide DOIs, and they are usually found in different places—sometimes within the first few pages of the PDF article, or in the article record on the publisher’s website.

DOIs typically look like this: doi:10.1006/aima.2001.2039
Here’s an example of where a DOI might be located in an article record:

Using the DOI in the example above, add it to the end of this URL, which will prompt the user to enter in their Tufts username and password:
https://www.library.tufts.edu/ezproxy/ezproxy.asp?LOCATION=http://dx.do…

The final link for this article with the DOI attached will look like this:
https://www.library.tufts.edu/ezproxy/ezproxy.asp?LOCATION=http://dx.do…
